Graciousness

Psalm 123

1 To You I lift up my eyes,
O You who are enthroned in the heavens!
2 Behold, as the eyes of servants look to the hand of their master,
As the eyes of a maid to the hand of her mistress,
So our eyes look to the LORD our God,
Until He is gracious to us.

3 Be gracious to us, O LORD, be gracious to us,
For we are greatly filled with contempt.
4 Our soul is greatly filled
With the scoffing of those who are at ease,
And with the contempt of the proud.

How often do you ask God to be gracious?  Don't we just assume he will?  He gave us his grace the second we accept all his gifts and began to follow him.  Are we so scared that we aren't in his good graces that we need to keep reminding him?  Of all the people who forget something like that, God isn't one of them. I will forget what I did yesterday, but God will remember.  He is gracious.
