His Plans for You

On the surface it was just a rusted out old well pump.  There was nothing special about it to a passerby.  It sat in the flower bed, surrounded by dark mulch, an alligator walk way, and old tires made into flower pots.  But if you cover up the gray and rust, it’s a beautiful object.  It could bring joy.  And if you attach a hose to it and the spigot, it may work again.

This well pump is sitting in my front flowerbed, just waiting for the plans we have for it.  A coat of grey paint, a new hose and this old ugly item can be transformed into looking gorgeous and pretty.  If we can get it to work as part of the watering system for the front of the house, that would be even better.

Yesterday, a neighbor came and offered money for this.  When the offer was given to me, I immediately said no.  They tried to get me to waiver, but I can’t sell it.  It has family history.  It has meaning to me.  My family thinks I’m crazy for not taking the money, but I can’t part with it.

Is this how God treats us?  He sent Jesus to cover our rust and breathe new life into us.  He died so that we can be apart of his family and no matter how much Satan wants for our soul, God will not sell us out.  We have meaning and history with God.  You have meaning and history with God.

Jeremiah 29:11

For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.
