It May Be Only One

Matthew 18:12 - 14
12 “What do you think? If a man owns a hundred sheep, and one of them wanders away, will he not leave the ninety-nine on the hills and go to look for the one that wandered off? 13 And if he finds it, truly I tell you, he is happier about that one sheep than about the ninety-nine that did not wander off. 14 In the same way your Father in heaven is not willing that any of these little ones should perish.

God loves you!  But sometimes, he is not as worried about you as you think.  He knows your heart, your soul, your mind.  He loves you.  He sees you doing what you need to for him.  You are in church, participating, trying to help others.  So he watches you, but sees that another person is slipping farther from him.  Who do you think he is going to pay more attention too?  The Bible tells us that he will leave the flock and go after that one.  That doesn't make you less special.  But if you are in the fold, doing your best, don't worry that God isn't listening to you.  Be thankful that he is actually going after and saving someone else.

Just be thankful you are not that one.  Be thankful that you are not the one caught alone, feeling lost and have wandered off the narrow path.  Pray for those who have.  God wants us to make each person feel special.  We can still do our own thing sometimes, but just as the shepherd goes after that one lost sheep, God does things to help that one lost soul come back to him.
