Spirits and Angels

I was reading the book of Matthew the other day and saw this verse.

Matthew 18:10
"See that you do not despise one of these little ones, for I say to you that their angels in heaven continually see the face of My Father who is in heaven."

It is actually part of some verses telling us not be stumbling blocks for others.  But the part of this verse that caught me was the middle.  ...for I say to you that their angels in heaven...  Their angels in heaven?  I have read that verse many times, skimming over it.  But last week, it hit me.  Guardian angels for little ones. I have always thought it was a neat idea of the guardian angels.  Someone that has been appointed to watch over me and nip at my conscious when I was about to do something stupid.  Like Pinnochio had Jiminy Cricket, young ones have a guardian angel.  And we as grow, accept Christ, repent and be baptized, we are also given a guardian.  The Holy Spirit.

John 14:26
"But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all that I said to you.

I hadn't thought much about it, but yes, the Holy Spirit is our Guardian.  He helps us in all we do.  The best part?  He is part of God and he was freely given to us.  We just need to accept him as a gift from God.  Praise God from whom all blessings flow!
